CONTINUOM COLLECTIVE

Living yoga means cultivating a mindful and respectful approach to ourselves, our fellow human beings and our environment. But it seems that this is at odds with the well-known ways of disposing of old (yoga) products. Far too often, yoga practitioners do not know how to dispose of their yoga mat sustainably at the end of its life.

 We do have a solution.

We, the owners of Bausinger, Greenyogashop and KURMA, have founded ContinuOM Collective with the vision of developing sustainable solutions for recyclable (yoga) products.

With the Second Flow initiative, we give old and no longer used yoga mats a second life. We collect used yoga mats from all manufacturers, donate mats in good condition to social or charitable institutions and recycle mats that are no longer usable as well as production waste.

Only together can we make a difference.

For a successful Second Flow initiative, we depend on the active involvement of the yoga community.

You can support us with your old yoga mat – no matter if it’s just one or several from your studio. As a yoga practitioner, you can either send us your discarded mat or drop it off at a participating Second Flow studio. As a studio owner, you are invited to become a Second Flow partner and accept old yoga mats. As a producer or retailer of yoga accessories, you can join us to help more people learn about ContinuOM Collective.

SECOND FLOW INITIATIVE

Collect

Since January 2020 we have collected more than 6000 PVC and 1800 rubber yoga mats. We are currently trial testing the collection of OEKO-TEX certified PVC and natural rubber mats. Step by step, we aim to extend the collection program to more materials.

Reuse

Our initiative ensures that too-good-to-go mats are cleaned, repacked and donated to worthy causes. Ultimately, at the end of their second life, we will recollect these mats and convert these through 100% recycling into new products.

Our Second life partners

Recycling

To avoid incineration and landfilling in favor of zero waste solutions, we partner with specialized companies capable of recycling both yoga mats and post-production material into new industrial products. Our goal is that 100% of the material can be reused.
